Stick to who you really are

All I hope for my children is that their unique talents and personalities don’t get knocked out of them. That my parenting, their schooling, and their career paths don’t knock it out of them. That they can stick to who they are.

This is me thirty six years ago in Paris, the first stop on my 1986 InterRailing adventure. I haven’t changed much (and I mean that in a good way).

I’m still wearing a denim jacket, I’m still going to gigs, I still care about making the world a better place.

I still like being the rebel, doing things my way. I still love wandering around cities, being creative, exploring and learning, scribbling down ideas, getting clarity.

Sometimes the trick to growing up is to stick to who you really are.
