You won’t feed yourself if you don’t go hunting.

You won’t feed yourself if you don’t go hunting.

I felt this most keenly a couple of weeks ago, when I got Covid.

It laid me low. I had no energy for my usual activities. And even when I started to feel better of course I was unable to venture out.

I’ve always known I’m most creative, productive and energised when I can get out and about. Normally, I build ‘moving around' days into my calendar. In order to produce my quality outputs - to do my deep work, to plan and deliver my workshops and training sessions - I need quality inputs.

So I go on the hunt for tasty ingredients to feed my creative soul. Jumping on a train to London, working out of new spaces, with the stimulation of the city and all the inevitable coffee shops and book shop stops in between, gives me what I need. Ideally there’ll be a lot of walking around too. Walk & talks as well as coffee catch ups. When wandering around I also tend not to plug into Spotify or a podcast, so I’m on alert to the world around me, and open to random encounters. I return from these hunting days full of the good stuff that will sustain me for the days ahead.

So after being confined to home for a couple of weeks, I am feeling grateful to be out hunting again.
