‘Walk with open eyes’ - a collaboration with Anthony Burrill
"This work is about everybody’s journey. The way we navigate life and the things that happen to us along the way. How we deal with the challenges reveals our strengths and humanity. Four words, each made of four letters arranged over the paper to represent the journey we are all on. To remind us to look around, keep our eyes open and see the world around us." -- Anthony Burrill
Since receiving a diagnosis of prostate cancer in the autumn of 2023, I've become more attuned to the world around me, finding joy in everyday moments and walking around with a heightened sense of clarity.
This has informed 'W A L K W I T H O P E N E Y E S' a piece of artwork with the celebrated graphic artist Anthony Burrill, a screenprint in his distinctive typographic style. It was screen printed by Harvey Lloyd Screens in Sussex, long-time collaborators with Anthony.
The print is a limited edition of only 50. And they are now available to purchase from Soma gallery.
Artist proceeds are being donated to Prostate Cancer UK. Thanks to Anthony and to Steve & Tracie at Harvey Lloyd for providing their services for free.
Here’s a little film created by Charles Sharman Cox with the story behind the idea.
