Standing up and telling my story of *this*

"There is still so much to say," I wrote in my notebook, minutes before I went into the operating theatre, late last year.

And now I'm going into a different kind of theatre! I'd long wanted to do a creative stand-up show. I had a vague idea of me, in person, telling some stories from my life. Then I got a cancer diagnosis where the future is uncertain. And it felt urgent suddenly to do this - to grab the opportunity to make it happen, to share my lessons from this time.

So one month today, Friday 20th September at 7pm, I'll be performing my one-man-show ‘WAKE UP! 10 Stories on Being Alive’, at The Dixon Studio, a theatre space in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.

My friend and collaborator Charles Sharman-Cox is producing and directing a documentary about my cancer journey and where the idea for the show came from. On the night, we'll be filming the performance.

If you’d like to come, there are limited tickets available. Please message me at hello@iansanders.com and if I can accommodate you, I will let you know.
