It’s all about the chemistry

More than the industry or project, more than the size of the business or the location, more than whether the business is long-established or fresh out of the box, it’s the chemistry that drives our business.

Chemistry unites everything we do. It’s the oil for our wheels and keeps us rolling along. We’re fortunate to have some amazing people to work with - we get each other, we have the same values and spirit.

Without chemistry - the project cannot happen. It wouldn’t be right for any of us involved, especially our clients whom we wouldn’t be serving in the right way.

This driving force means we can stay open-minded about who we might work with. It’s liberating not having any rules about a ‘target audience’.

This eclectic project mix has nourished us over the last twelve months. I just love the juxtapositions:

  • From global to hyperlocal: a session for Microsoft’s public affairs team; and one for Create 98, a creative hub five minutes up the road.

  • From the field to the boardroom: a gig hosting conversations outside in a field at The Do Lectures; a leadership offsite at Amazon’s HQ in Dublin.

  • From early stage founders to global innovators: a training programme for early stage female founders with we are radikl; and a storytelling masterclass for a cohort of global innovators at Accenture’s The Circulars Accelerator.

  • From one to many: a leadership training programme for Ericsson with participants from Latin America to Europe; alongside one-to-one story-building sessions for entrepreneurs.

Of course much of this year’s projects were delivered via a mix of Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. Which made those in-person projects and encounters more special: an offsite of one in Amsterdam; a wonderful walk and talk through an art gallery with Helen;  co-working at The Bakery Desks and Second Home; a More Good Days group walk in Soho with Tom, Irina, Will, James, Kat and Morin; walk and talks with Andrew, Nick, Sally, Hazel, Will, Joie, John and David; a visit to Anthony Burrill’s stunning home studio in the Kent countryside; a series of podcast interviews on 365 Ways To Have a Good Day; a voice-over for Guardian Labs & Mailchimp; post pandemic reunions with Jerry, Kish, Alex and Martijn.

Thank you from me and Zoë - see you in 2023
