Notes on how to live.

“The lockdowns of a few years back gave many of us an opportunity to reflect and reconsider our circumstances in life. As someone who runs workshops and in-person events, my client projects were suddenly on hold. I couldn’t travel or do the usual things I loved doing.

One day I unpacked a box of notebooks. They stretched back over 13 years and in them I’d written all sorts of things: observations from my own life; stories from others; sayings that inspired me; stuff I’d noticed. Anything really that sparked my interest. Going through these books gave me a window on the world at a time when our lives were mostly enacted within the four walls of our homes.

I was surprised. Re-reading the pages, I discovered so many nuggets that fed me: on what it means to live a life of purpose, how to find joy in the everyday and how being curious can make a hugely positive difference to our lives.

It felt like there was a load of advice and ideas that could help others, so I selected my favourite elements, added a few more and came up with 365 of them, a whole year’s worth of inspiration. And so the content of my 27 notebooks became my fifth book ‘365 Ways To Have a Good Day’ that was published in 2021.

365 Ways To Have a Good Day is simply a book of stories and ideas that will give you food for thought. Some may resonate, some might not be for you. But what it will do is give you a whole host of stories and ideas for looking at the world differently; for helping you pay attention to what brings you enjoyment; for sparking positive change in your every day. Notes, if you like, on how to live.”
